Deployment of a full‐size converter utilised hydropower plant to enhance inter‐area oscillation damping

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 18, Issue 10, Page 1992-2005, May 2024.
This paper deals with the stability behavior of a full‐size converter (FSC) utilised hydropower plant. Specifically, it examines how the damping capability of a hydropower plant with a FSC can be enhanced in case of occurring inter‐area oscillations in the power system. Abstract Due to the increasing share of inverter‐based renewable energy sources and

Development and applications of the quasi‐dynamic triaxial apparatus for deep rocks

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, Volume 3, Issue 1, Page 70-90, March 2024.
Two modifications were made to the TFD‐2000/D rock triaxial instrument to achieve the rock in fatigue creep alternation, variable amplitude cyclic disturbance, and constant fatigue loading on rocks. After the test, it could be well adapted for the study of strong disturbance and timing‐dependent properties of deep rocks.
