Battery Charge Control With an Electro-Thermal-Aging Coupling
Volume 1: Adaptive and Intelligent Systems Control; Advances in Control Design Methods; Advances in Non-Linear and Optimal Control; Advances in Robotics; Advances in Wind Energy Systems; Aerospace Applications; Aerospace Power Optimization; Assistive Robotics; Automotive 2: Hybrid Electric Vehicles; Automotive 3: Internal Combustion Engines; Automotive Engine Control; Battery Management; Bio Engineering Applications; Biomed and Neural Systems; Connected Vehicles; Control of Robotic Systems, 2015Efficient and safe battery charge control is an important prerequisite for large-scale deployment of clean energy systems. This paper proposes an innovative approach to devising optimally health-conscious fast-safe charge protocols. A multi-objective optimal control problem is mathematically formulated via a coupled electro-thermal-aging battery model,

Comprehensive electro-thermal(ET) analysis with considering ET coupling
2011 9th IEEE International Conference on ASIC, 2011Temperature and supply voltage directly influence IC performance and reliability. Thus electro-thermal(ET) analysis including power/ground(P/G) analysis and thermal analysis is very important in IC design. But present ET analysis is simply implemented because P/G analysis doesn't consider temperature changes and thermal analysis always assume supply ...

Coupled Electro-Thermal Mechanical Analyses for SMM Actuators Development
Microelectromechanical Systems, 2004A coupled-physics analysis code has been developed to simulate the electrical, thermal, and mechanical responses of surface micromachined (SMM) actuators. Our objective is to optimize the design and performance of these micro actuators. Since many new designs of these electro-thermal actuators have shuttles or platforms between beams, calculating the ...

Electro-thermal coupling simulation of high power bipolar transistors
[1987] NASECODE V: Proceedings of the Fifth International Conference on the Numerical Analysis of Semiconductor Devices and Integrated Circuits, 1987It is shown that a numerical iterative coupling process between an electrical model of high power bipolar transistors and a three-dimensional thermal model (based on the thermal influence coefficient method) of the transistor and its case well predicts the onset of an electro-thermal instability in this kind of devices.

Electro-thermal coupling model of supercapacitor for online application
2019 IEEE 4th International Future Energy Electronics Conference (IFEEC), 2019Online temperature observation is very important for the health diagnosis and safe operation of the supercapacitor energy storage system. The paper presents an electro-thermal coupling model to estimate the temperature in supercapacitor. Firstly, an electro-thermal coupling model is built for the purpose of online temperature observation.

Localized statistical 3D thermal analysis considering Electro-Thermal coupling
2009 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2009In this paper, we propose a novel method for analyzing fewer hot spots in a chip. The method, called SNSOR (Single-Node Successive Over Relaxation), is based on a novel localized relaxed iterative approach to perform statistical analysis on one hot spot at a time.

Coupled electro-thermal simulation of a DC/DC converter
Microelectronics Reliability, 2007Electro-thermal simulation of a DC/DC converter using a two-step methodology and its experimental validation are presented in this paper. The simulation technique is based on the coupling of a thermal simulator (FLOTHERM) and an electrical one based on VHDL-AMS language.

Parametric Model Order Reduction for Electro-Thermal Coupled Problems
2019We consider automatic parametric model order reduction for electro-thermal (ET) coupled problems arising from (nano-)microelectronic simulations. We show that the PMOR method based on multi-moment matching proposed in [2] can be applied to the discretized ET models. The error bound in [6] is used to check the accuracy of the reduced models.

Package Reliability Analysis with Coupled Electro-Thermal and Mechanical Modeling
MRS Proceedings, 2013ABSTRACTPower consumption and dissipation during electrical operation lead to a temperature rise in the package. Elevated temperature in the package structure induces thermo-mechanical stresses which may increase reliability risks. Robust and reliable package design for power systems requires comprehensive analysis of system electrical, thermal, and ...
