Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

Characterization of the Plasma Shape of the TIG Welding Arc [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Tungsten electrodes were prepared to analyse the plasma geometry at TIG welding. The investigated electrodes were La02, Th02 alloyed. Tip flatted electrodes were grinded as well. The shape of plasma were analysed for 36 different electrodes.

A Study on the Electrode Wear in Electrical Discharge Machining. The 2nd Report: Observation of the Time Dependence of Electrode Wear.

open access: yesJournal of The Japan Society of Electrical Machining Engineers, 1993
In order to realize precision machining in EDM, it is needed to avoid the wear of an electrode. In this paper, the wear rate of an electrode, especially the edge portion of the electrode is evaluated by measuring the change of electrode shape in machining. The wear rate of the electrode on the whole is rather small at the beginning of machining.

3D‐Printed Sulfur‐Derived Polymers With Controlled Architectures for Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rheology‐guided formulation design for direct ink writing enables the fabrication of 3D sulfur copolymer cathodes with controlled architectures for lithium‐sulfur batteries. The printed electrodes exhibit multiscale porosity and high sulfur utilization, delivering enhanced electrochemical performance compared to conventional cast electrodes.
