Bayesian trained rational functions for electromagnetic design optimization [PDF]

open access: possible2007 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2007
This paper presented an interpolation scheme based on Bayesian trained quadratic rational functions for approximating frequency based electromagnetic return loss responses. Initial results indicate that this scheme is an efficient tool in catching nulls and characterizing resonance behavior.

Modeling of the electromagnetic field based on rational mechanics approach

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2023
AbstractThis article discusses a possibility of deriving the basic equations of electrodynamics by means of the rational continuum mechanics principles and methods. We show that in order to give rise to the challenge, one needs to consider an elastic continuum of two‐spin particles of a special kind.

A delay‐rational model of electromagnetic interference on multiconductor transmission lines

International Journal of Numerical Modelling: Electronic Networks, Devices and Fields, 2018
AbstractMulticonductor transmission lines have found a wide range of applications, as power lines, as high‐speed interconnects, and as on‐chip interconnects. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) can be described in terms of plane waves that couple to these lines, leading to unwanted disturbance.

The Electromagnetic Actuator Design Problem: A General and Rational Approach

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2004
This paper clearly delineates the problem of the design of electromagnetic actuators and presents it as an inverse problem. It discusses optimal formulations and explains the most general and rational way to solve this inverse problem. The methodology is based on the association of an exact interval global optimization algorithm and a new, more general

Adaptive multivariate rational data fitting with applications in electromagnetics

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2006
The behavior of certain electromagnetic devices or components can be simulated with great detail in software. A drawback of these simulation models is that they are very time consuming. Since the accuracy required for the computational electromagnetic analysis is usually only 2-3 significant digits, an approximate analytic model is sometimes used ...

Computational electromagnetics and the rational design of new dielectric heterostructures

Progress in Materials Science, 2003
Abstract Dielectric properties of heterogeneous materials for various condensed-matter systems have been gaining world-wide attention over the past 50 or so years in the design (or engineering) of materials structures for desired properties and functional purposes. These applications range from cable and current limiters to sensors.

Three-dimensional transient electromagnetic modelling using Rational Krylov methods

Geophysical Journal International, 2015
A computational method is given for solving the forward modeling problem for transient electromagnetic exploration. Its key features are discretization of the quasi-static Maxwell's equations in space using the first-kind family of curl-conforming Nedelec elements combined with time integration using rational Krylov subspace methods.
