Geometric Discretization of Lagrangian Mechanics and Field Theories [PDF]
This thesis presents a unified framework for geometric discretization of highly oscillatory mechanics and classical field theories, based on Lagrangian variational principles and discrete differential forms. For highly oscillatory problems in mechanics,

What Cavities in Superconductors Reveal About Superconductivity
When a normal metal with one or more small cavities in its interior is cooled into the superconducting state in the presence of a magnetic field, will it expel the entire field to reach its lowest energy state? The conventional theory says yes, the theory of hole superconductivity says no.

The optical singularities of birefringent dichroic chiral crystals
Using a new formalism involving projection from the sphere of directions to the stereographic plane, and associated complex variables, explicit formulae are obtained for the two refractive indices and polarizations in optically anisotropic crystals that ...

A low‐cost clip gauge extensometer for crack mouth opening displacement was developed from accessible procedures and materials. Accuracy and repeatability comparable to commercial devices were demonstrated in calibration and fracture tests, enabling reliable measurement in CT specimens for resource‐constrained laboratories.

AN EXTENDED DELAY-RATIONAL MACROMODEL FOR ELECTROMAGNETIC INTERFERENCE ANALYSIS OF MIXED SIGNAL CIRCUITS [PDF]
This paper presents an extended delay-rational macro- model for electromagnetic interference analysis of mixed signal circuits. Firstly, an S-parameter matrix based delay-rational macromodel of the associated microwave network or system is established. Then, we extend the macromodel to include the external electromagnetic inter- ference efiects.

High‐Efficiency Cascaded Step‐Up DC–DC Converter With Passive Clamping and Voltage Multiplication
This article presents a novel hybrid coupled‐inductor (CI) cascaded high step‐up (HCICHSU) DC–DC converter tailored for renewable energy systems. The proposed converter achieves ultrahigh voltage gain, low voltage stress on semiconductor devices, and continuous input current by combining buck–boost and boost topologies within a hybrid cascaded ...
