The low‐latitude ionosphere is a dynamic region with a wide range of disturbances in temporal and spatial scales. The Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) situated in the low‐latitude region has demonstrated its ability to detect various ionospheric ...

Development of a practical multicomponent density functional for electron-proton correlation to produce accurate proton densities. [PDF]
Multicomponent density functional theory (DFT) enables the consistent quantum mechanical treatment of both electrons and protons. A major challenge has been the design of electron-proton correlation (epc) functionals that produce even qualitatively ...

Peptide‐based ligand antagonists block a Vibrio cholerae adhesin
The structure of a peptide‐binding domain of the Vibrio cholerae adhesin FrhA was solved by X‐ray crystallography, revealing how the inhibitory peptide AGYTD binds tightly at its Ca2+‐coordinated pocket. Structure‐guided design incorporating D‐amino acids enhanced binding affinity, providing a foundation for developing anti‐adhesion therapeutics ...

Anisotropy and periodicity in the density distribution of electrons in a quantum-well
We use low temperature near-field optical spectroscopy to image the electron density distribution in the plane of a high mobility GaAs quantum well. We find that the electrons are not randomly distributed in the plane, but rather form narrow stripes ...

This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Electron Densities, Momentum Densities, and Density Matrices
Abstract Relationships among electron coordinate-space and momentum densities and the one-electron charge density matrix or Wigner function are examined. A knowledge of either or both densities places constraints on possible density matrices.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

The Uppsala Electron-Density Server [PDF]
The Uppsala Electron Density Server (EDS; http://eds.bmc.uu.se/) is a web-based facility that provides access to electron-density maps and statistics concerning the fit of crystal structures and their maps. Maps are available for approximately 87% of the crystallographic Protein Data Bank (PDB) entries for which structure factors have been deposited ...

Exact solution to neutrino-plasma two-flavor dynamics
It is shown that the two-flavor neutrino oscillation equations admit an exact analytic solution for arbitrarily chosen normalized electron neutrino population, provided the electron plasma density is adjusted in a certain way.
