Interference and interferometry in electron holography [PDF]
Abstract This paper reviews the basics of electron holography as an introduction of the holography part of this special issue in Microscopy. We discuss the general principle of holography and interferometry regarding measurements and analyses of phase distributions, first using the optical holography.

Investigation of gas-electron interactions with electron holography
Using the combination of off-axis electron holography and environmental Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), an experimental setup termed 'gas electron holography', we investigate how the presence of gas in the microscope affects the spatial and phase resolution of electron holograms. The gas is introduced either by using an Environmental TEM (ETEM)

Electron holography on Fraunhofer diffraction. [PDF]
Electron holography in Fraunhofer region was realized by using an asymmetric double slit. A Fraunhofer diffraction wave from a wider slit worked as an objective wave interfered with a plane wave from a narrower slit as a reference wave under the pre-Fraunhofer condition and recorded as a hologram.

Electron Holography for Advanced Characterization of Permanent Magnets: Demagnetization Field Mapping and Enhanced Precision in Phase Analysis [PDF]
This review explores a method of visualizing a demagnetization field (Hd) within a thin-foiled Nd2Fe14B specimen using electron holography observation. Mapping the Hd is critical in electron holography as it provides the only information on magnetic flux

Synergistic use of gradient flipping and phase prediction for inline electron holography [PDF]
Inline holography in the transmission electron microscope is a versatile technique which provides real-space phase information that can be used for the correction of imaging aberrations, as well as for measuring electric and magnetic fields and strain ...

Noise reduction of electron holography observations for a thin-foiled Nd-Fe-B specimen using the wavelet hidden Markov model [PDF]
In this study, we investigate the effectiveness of noise reduction in electron holography, based on the wavelet hidden Markov model (WHMM), which allows the reasonable separation of weak signals from noise.

Analysis of Nanowire pn-Junction with Combined Current–Voltage, Electron-Beam-Induced Current, Cathodoluminescence, and Electron Holography Characterization [PDF]
We present the characterization of a pn-junction GaAs nanowire. For the characterization, current–voltage, electron-beam-induced current, cathodoluminescence, and electron holography measurements are used. We show that by combining information from these

X-ray in-line holography and holotomography at the NanoMAX beamline
Coherent X-ray imaging techniques, such as in-line holography, exploit the high brilliance provided by diffraction-limited storage rings to perform imaging sensitive to the electron density through contrast due to the phase shift, rather than ...
