Electron holography of biological samples

Micron, 2008
In this paper, we summarise the development of off-axis electron holography on biological samples starting in 1986 with the first results on ferritin from the group of Tonomura. In the middle of the 1990s strong interest was evoked, but then stagnation took place because the results obtained at that stage did not reach the contrast and the resolution ...

Electron Holography

open access: yesScientific Highlights in Memory of Léon Van Hove, 1993
Holography was devised for breaking through the resolution limit of electron microscopes The advent of a "coherent" field emission electron beam has enabled the use of Electron Holography in various areas of magnetic domain structures observation, fluxon

Magnetic structure and coercivity mechanism of AlNiCo magnets studied by electron holography

open access: yesJournal of Alloys and Compounds, 2017
Micromagnetic structure and coercivity were systematically investigated by electron holography and micromagnetic simulation. The experimental data show that the distribution of magnetic flux lines of FeCo-rich (alpha 1) phase is different from that of ...

Experiments on inelastic electron holography

Ultramicroscopy, 2006
Using the combination of an electron biprism and an energy filter, the coherence distribution in an inelastically scattered wave-field is measured. It is found that the degree of coherence decreases rapidly with increasing distance between two superimposed points in the object, and with increasing energy-loss.

Electron Holography with Atomic Focusers

Physical Review Letters, 2000
In a modified form of electron holography, as originally proposed by Gabor, a specimen illuminated by the focused, convergent beam of a scanning transmission electron microscope is followed by a thin crystal which acts as a periodic array of atomic focusers.
