Electron Transport in Solids

2014
The Monte Carlo (MC) method is used for evaluating the many physical quantities necessary to the study of the interactions of particle-beams with solid targets. Studies of backscattered and secondary electrons are of great interest for many analytical techniques.

Electron transporting semiconducting polymers in organic electronics

Chemical Society Reviews, 2011
Significant progress has been achieved in the preparation of semiconducting polymers over the past two decades, and successful commercial devices based on them are slowly beginning to enter the market. However, most of the conjugated polymers are hole transporting, or p-type, semiconductors that have seen a dramatic rise in performance over the last ...

Nonlinear electron transport in an electron-hole plasma

Physical Review B, 2012
Charge transport in an electron-hole plasma driven by high-field terahertz (THz) pulses is strongly influenced by electron-hole interactions, as has been shown in a recent publication [P. Bowlan et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 107, 256602 (2011)]. We introduce a picture of high-field THz transport which accounts for the roles of both types of carriers ...

High-energy electron transport

Physical Review B, 1992
The bipartition model for electron transport has been extended to the energy range from 1 to 50 MeV because of its importance for radiation therapy. In the extended version, the influence of energy-loss straggling, secondary-electron production, and bremsstrahlung production on electron transport has been included.

Trypsin inhibition of electron transport

Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1973
1. 1. A relaxation spectrophotometer was employed to measure the effects of trypsin treatment on electron transport in both cyclic and non-cyclic chloroplast reactions. The parameters measured were electron flow rate through P700 (flux) and the time constant for dark reduction of P700. 2. 2. In the reduction of methyl viologen by the ascorbate-2,

Nonlocal Electron Transport in a Plasma

Physical Review Letters, 1995
We have developed a nonlocal linear theory of electron transport in plasmas with arbitrary electron collisionality. Closure relations for the fluid equations are derived from a solution to the electron Fokker-Planck equation where electron collisions are considered in the limit of large ion charge.

Electron transporters

1993
Abstract 7.1 Introduction Electron transporters can be defined for our present purposes as low molecular weight (8–15 kDa) protein molecules that contain a redox active cofactor and have no catalytic function other than as an electron sink.
