Exploring Missed Spectrum Access Opportunities in Wi‐Fi 6 and 5G NR‐U Coexistence for Enhancing 6 GHz Spectrum Utilization

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper investigates new radio spectrum coexistence mechanisms, leveraging the currently uninhabited 6 GHz bands and aiming for fair coexistence of Wi‐Fi 6 and 5G new radio unlicensed (NR‐U). A novel two‐stage channel contention mechanism is proposed to explore additional spectrum access opportunities which remain unrealized in the existing channel ...

Determination of Transient Voltage Stability Region Boundary in Parameter Space Based on Polynomial Approximation of Improved Stability Index

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a polynomial approximation‐based method for determination of transient voltage stability region boundary (TVSRB) in parameter space, enabling efficient stability assessment under varying operating conditions. The method is validated in the IEEE 9‐bus system and an actual system.
