Non-affine displacements in flexible polymer networks [PDF]

open access: yesMacromolecules 44, 1671 (2011), 2010
The validity of the affine assumption in model flexible polymer networks is explored. To this end, the displacements of fluorescent tracer beads embedded in polyacrylamide gels are quantified by confocal microscopy under shear deformation, and the deviations of these displacements from affine responses are recorded.

Conducting polymer electrodes for gel electrophoresis.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
In nearly all cases, electrophoresis in gels is driven via the electrolysis of water at the electrodes, where the process consumes water and produces electrochemical by-products. We have previously demonstrated that π-conjugated polymers such as poly(3,4-

The repton model of gel electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica A 244, 25 (1997), 1996
We discuss the repton model of agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA. We review previous results, both analytic and numerical, as well as presenting a new numerical algorithm for the efficient simulation of the model, and suggesting a new approach to the model's analytic solution.

Isolation and properties of a lectin from the seeds of Mimosa invisa L. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
A lectin has been purified from the seeds ofMimosa invisa L. by gel filtration and preparative Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The purified lectin was homogeneous as judged by analytical Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, immunodiffusion and ...

Development of Pipetting Devices to Separate Protein Complexes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
The objective of this project is to develop an automated device used to spot protein samples on a hydrophobic membrane to be used for the patented electrophoresis method developed by Chang and Yonan in 2008 [1]. This novel method performs electrophoresis directly on hydrophobic blot membranes as opposed to the previous popular methods such as the 2-D ...

An Analysis System for DNA Gel Electrophoresis Images Based on Automatic Thresholding an Enhancement [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Electro/Information Technology, 2007, 2016
Gel electrophoresis, a widely used technique to separate DNA according to their size and weight, generates images that can be analyzed automatically. Manual or semiautomatic image processing presents a bottleneck for further development and leads to reproducibility issues.

Blue native polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (BN-PAGE) for analysis of multiprotein complexes from cellular lysates.

open access: yesJournal of Visualized Experiments, 2011
Multiprotein complexes (MPCs) play a crucial role in cell signalling, since most proteins can be found in functional or regulatory complexes with other proteins (Sali, Glaeser et al. 2003). Thus, the study of protein-protein interaction networks requires

Analysis of chitosan molecular weight profile by electrophoresis in a porosity step gradient polyacrylamide gel [PDF]

open access: yesThe Ukrainian Biochemical Journal, 2022
Chitosan is biocompatible and biodegradable natural biopolymer widely applied in various fields of biology, medicine, and pharmacy, however, its effects significantly depend on the degree of polymerization (DP) and the degree of deacetylation (DDA) of ...
