Microsecond electrophoresis [PDF]
Although analysis strategies exist for probing a diverse array of molecular properties, most of these approaches are not amenable to the study of reaction intermediates and other transient species. Separations in particular can provide detailed information on attributes not readily measured by spectroscopy but typically are performed over ...

Brownian motion, electrophoresis, chromatography, and macromolecular chemistry: how it all unites Nobel laureates of the first half of the 20th century – T. Svedberg, A. Tiselius, R. Synge and H. Staudinger [PDF]
It is hard to imagine how chemistry, biology and medicine would develop without such techniques as ultracentrifugation, electrophoresis and chromatography.

Knowing how proteases recognise preferred substrates facilitates matching proteases to applications. The S1′ pocket of protease EA1 directs cleavage to the N‐terminal side of hydrophobic residues, particularly leucine. The S1′ pocket of thermolysin differs from EA's at only one position (leucine in place of phenylalanine), which decreases cleavage ...

Identification of protein fractions of milk cows casein complex [PDF]
To date, dozens of biologically active peptides formed during proteolysis of casein fractions have been discovered. The use of these peptides is closely related to the necessity of their rapid identification.

Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

Electromigration dispersion in Capillary Electrophoresis
In a previous paper (S. Ghosal and Z. Chen Bull. Math. Biol. 2010, vol. 72, pg. 2047) it was shown that the evolution of the solute concentration in capillary electrophoresis is described by a nonlinear wave equation that reduced to Burger's equation if ...
