This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Fractionnement et caractérisation des glycoprotéines dans les moûts de raisins blancs
Les auteurs étudient les glycoprotéines dans des moûts de raisins blancs. Ces glycoprotéines sont fractionnées par chromatofocalisation et caractérisées par différentes techniques séparatives : CLHP, électrophorèse, SDS-PAGE, analyse des acides aminés ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Microparticles for selective protein determination in capillary electrophoresis
A system for detection of trace amounts of protein was developed. Two different monoclonal antibodies against human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) were covalently bound to latex particles. When the latex particles were mixed with a sample containing hCG, a

Localization of the genes for tumor necrosis factor and lymphotoxin between the HLA classI and III regions by field inversion gel electrophoresis [PDF]
To clarify the position of the TNFA and TNFB genes on the HLA map, we have assigned TNFA to large DNA restriction fragments separated by field inversion gel electrophoresis, which hybridize with either class III- or class I-specific probes as well. These

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Image Analysis Workflow for 2-D Electrophoresis Gels Based on ImageJ
A number of commercial software packages are currently available to perform digital two-dimensional electrophoresis (2D-GE) gel analysis. However, both the high cost of the commercial packages and the unavailability of a standard data analysis workflow ...

Optimization and validation of multi-coloured capillary electrophoresis for genotyping of Plasmodium falciparum merozoite surface proteins (msp1 and 2). [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Genotyping of Plasmodium falciparum based on PCR amplification of the polymorphic genes encoding the merozoite surface proteins 1 and 2 (msp1 and msp2) is well established in the field of malaria research to determine the number and types of ...
