Mahaim Fibre Tachycardia: Recognition and Management
Dr. Gallagher et al1 wrote 22 years ago that "the role of Mahaim fibers in the genesis of cardiac arrhythmias in man has been controversial since they were first described " in the late 30's by Dr. Ivan Mahaim2.

Connexin43 Deficiency Leads to Ventricular Arrhythmias by Reprogramming Proline Metabolism
The study demonstrated that connexin43 (Cx43) knockout caused arrhythmic phenotype and decreased proline content in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, Cx43 interacts with the amino acid transporter SNAT2 (sodium‐dependent neutral amino acid transporter), and its deficiency disrupts proline transport and metabolism.

A clinical approach to arrhythmias revisited in 2018 : from ECG over noninvasive and invasive electrophysiology to advanced imaging [PDF]
Understanding arrhythmias and their treatment is not always easy. The current straightforward approach with catheter ablation and device therapy is an amazing achievement, but does not make management of underlying or other cardiac disease and ...

3D Bioprinted Fat‐Myocardium Model Unravels the Role of Adipocyte Hypertrophy in Atrial Dysfunction
A human‐derived 3D bioprinted fat–myocardium model is developed to investigate how adipocyte hypertrophy drives atrial dysfunction in obesity. Palmitate‐induced adipocyte hypertrophy promotes adipose dysfunction that impairs atrial cardiomyocyte metabolism and electrophysiology through both paracrine and direct interactions. This platform recapitulates

This study explores a novel E‐tattoo made from PVBVA fibers coated with Ti3C2Tx MXene. The device is designed to harvest energy directly from the human body, providing power for itself. The research demonstrates the E‐tattoo's capability for charge storage and its potential for health monitoring through integrated ECG and EMG sensing, all within a ...

Maintenance of increased coronary blood flow in excess of demand by nisoldipine administered as an intravenous infusion [PDF]
Systemic and hemodynamic effects of nisoldipine, administered as a 4.5-micrograms/kg intravenous bolus over 3 minutes followed immediately by an infusion of 0.2 microgram/kg/min over 30 minutes, were studied in 13 patients undergoing diagnostic ...

Cyclic nucleotide‐gated (CNG) and hyperpolarization‐activated cyclic nucleotide‐gated (HCN) channels share substantial sequence and structural similarity but differ markedly in ion conductance and K+ selectivity. Microsecond‐scale atomistic MD simulations qualitatively reproduced the conductance differences observed in single‐channel recordings and ...
