Microstructure evolution of copper strips with gradient temperature in electropulsing treatment

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2013
Abstract Microstructure evolution of copper strips with gradient temperature between two electrodes in electropulsing treatment is investigated. The cold-rolled copper strips develop recovery and recrystallization between the two electrodes. The gradient temperature caused by the movement of strips in the treatment process results in the evolution of

Influence of electropulse treatment on the structure of the surface layer

Metal Science and Heat Treatment, 1967
1. A substantial phase transformation occurs in the surface layer of St. 3 steel samples as the results of electropulse treatment. As a consequence of the interaction of the medium with the graphite electrode and the high temperature carbon atoms penetrate the crystal lattice of α-iron, resulting in the formation of tetragonal martensite and ...

Crack healing in SUS304 stainless steel by electropulsing treatment

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2016
Abstract The research about repair of metal cracks plays an important role in promoting the development of remanufacturing engineering. Crack in the SUS304 stainless steel was treated by electropulsing with peak current density of 4.1 kA/mm 2 . After seven times of electropulsing treatment, continuous healing areas in both left and right side of ...

Improvement of mechanical properties in a saw blade by electropulsing treatment

Materials Letters, 2003
Effects of electropulsing on mechanical properties of a saw blade were studied. It was found that the teeth of saw blade were hard but the back of saw blade was more ductile after electropulsing treatment. The strength and ductility of electropulsed samples were higher than that of normally tempered samples, when the former had the same or higher ...

Texture modification of magnesium alloys during electropulse treatment

Materials Science and Technology, 2017
Differential speed rolling (DSR) at room temperature has been carried out on two Mg–1Gd and Mg–1Zn–1Gd rare-earth-containing magnesium alloys with different thickness reductions. The cold-rolled samples were selected to investigate the microstructure and texture evolution during the electropulse treatment (EPT).

Material Electropulsing Treatment and Characterisation of Machinability

2017
The machinability of metals and alloys is well known for being affected by the cutting conditions, cutting tools and material properties. A very high-quality surface finish can be obtained by the use of advanced machine tools based on single point diamond turning (SPDT).

Effect of electropulse on solid solution treatment of 6061 aluminum alloy

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2014
Abstract A facile method for solid-solution treatment of 6061 Al alloys by using electropulse, namely electropulsing solution treatment (EPST) is explored in this study. Compared with the conventional solution treatment (CST), the EPST tremendously improves the dissolution rate. The dissolution process completes in 15 s.

A novel rapid electropulsing treatment on AZO thin ceramic films

Ceramics International, 2015
Abstract AZO thin films were deposited on quartz glass and were treated with electropulsing. Effect of the electropulsing on AZO films was investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Hall Effect measurement and UV–visible transmittance spectra.

Features of Electroplastic Deformation and Electropulse Treatment for TiNi Alloys

Materials Science Forum, 2013
Influence of the combined action severe deformation and a pulse current on a microstructure and mechanical behavior of long-size rods and strips with thin section out of Ti50Ni50 and Ti49.3Ni50.7 alloys is presented. Dependence of electroplastic effect on phase composition of the initial alloys is demonstrated.
