Strategies to Tune Electrospun Scaffold Porosity for Effective Cell Response in Tissue Engineering

open access: yesJournal of Functional Biomaterials, 2019
Tissue engineering aims to develop artificial human tissues by culturing cells on a scaffold in the presence of biochemical cues. Properties of scaffold such as architecture and composition highly influence the overall cell response.

Artificial Cornea Substitute Based on Hydrogel Skeletons with Natural Stromal Hierarchical Structure and Extracellular Matrix for Sutureless Transplantation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Humanized corneal stroma‐like adhesive patches (HCSPs) are developed for lamellar keratoplasty and corneal perforation repair. HCSPs exhibit histological, optical, and biomechanical characteristics similar to those of the natural cornea, with improved wet tissue adhesion, anti‐degradation, and anti‐swelling capabilities compared to conventional tissue ...

Zonated Copper‐Driven Breast Cancer Progression Countered by a Copper‐Depleting Nanoagent for Immune and Metabolic Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Spatially resolved multiomics reveals that high‐copper zones are closely associated with tumor metastasis, immune‐desert phenotypes, and oxidative‐phosphorylation (OXPHOS)‐dependent proliferation. A targeted bacterial nanovesicle delivering copper‐depleting agents effectively reduces tumor copper levels, inhibits OXPHOS‐dependent tumor growth, and ...

Electrospray-Mangiferin Nanoparticles Gel: A Promising Agent for Sun and Age Defense

open access: yesCosmetics
UV irradiation causes skin damage and aging. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a gel formulation loaded with electrospray mangiferin nanoparticles (MNPs) as a double-action product with photoprotective and anti-aging properties.

A new emitter for electrospray and electrohydrodynamic jet printing [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We propose using a dielectric beveled nozzle for electrospray and electrohydrodynamic jet printing. This nozzle stabilizes the liquid ejection of low-conductivity liquids, considerably reducing the minimum flow rate below which the flow becomes unstable. This translates into a significant reduction of the minimum jet diameter.

Electrosynthesis of Atomically Precise Au Nanoclusters

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, atomically precise Au nanoclusters are fabricated by electrochemical method. The synthesis mechanism is explored. Simply by adjusting the potential waveform, the yield of Au nanoclusters is significantly enhanced, highlighting its technical superiority.

Emerging Multiscale Biofabrication Approaches for Bacteriotherapy

open access: yesMolecules
Bacteriotherapy is emerging as a strategic and effective approach to treat infections by providing putatively harmless bacteria (i.e., probiotics) as antagonists to pathogens.

Single synchronous delivery of FK506-loaded polymeric microspheres with pancreatic islets for the successful treatment of streptozocin-induced diabetes in mice

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2017
Immune rejection after transplantation is common, which leads to prompt failure of the graft. Therefore, to prolong the survival time of the graft, immunosuppressive therapy is the norm.
