Electrospray Ionization Ion Mobility Mass Spectrometry

Critical Reviews in Analytical Chemistry, 2021
Electrospray ionization ion mobility mass spectrometry (ESI-IMS-MS) is a rapidly progressing analytical technique for the examination of complex compounds in the gas phase. ESI-IMS-MS separates isomers, provides structural information, and quantitatively identifies peptides, lipids, carbohydrates, polymers, and metabolites in biological samples.

Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry of Oligonucleotides

Current Protocols in Nucleic Acid Chemistry, 2008
AbstractBecause of the high molecular weights and thermal lability of biomolecules such as nucleic acids and protein, they can be difficult to analyze by mass spectrometry. Such analyses require a “soft” ionization method that is capable of generating intact molecular ions.

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of ginsenosides

Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2002
AbstractGinsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg1, Rg2 and F11 were studied systematically by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry in positive‐ and negative‐ion modes with a mobile‐phase additive, ammonium acetate. In general, ion sensitivities for the ginsenosides were greater in the negative‐ion mode, but more structural information on the ...

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry of metalloporphyrins

Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 1998
The magnesium, nickel, copper, zinc and vanadium metalloporphyrins from octaethylporphyrin, etioporphyrin I and tetraphenylporphyrin were characterized using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The ion abundance of each of the porphyrins present in binary mixtures was monitored as a function of the porphyrin concentration and is ...

Arc-Induced Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry

Analytical Chemistry, 2023
Arc-induced electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (AESI-MS) was developed during which alternating current electrospray is simply achieved through the arc plasma. The AESI source exploits the arc's temperature and charge properties to generate aerosols consisting of charged microdroplets.

Determination of micelle mass by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2005
AbstractBy electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry, micelle solutions of sodium cholate were investigated in detail in the presence and absence of ethanol. The average aggregation number could be evaluated from the spectra acquired under conditions where soft collisions adequate to measure the micelle solution were induced, and the value agreed

Electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

2001
Abstract Characterization of protein-ligand interactions involves the determination of stoichiometry, affinity, and conformational changes associated with such interactions. Mass spectrometry is rapidly emerging as an important and powerful new tool in this area to complement the wealth of other techniques described in these volumes ...

Surfactants Usable for Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry

Analytical Biochemistry, 2000
Surfactants suppress the electrospray ionization (ESI) of various compounds. Here we demonstrate that fluorinated surfactants such as perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOSA) could be employed for ESI-MS without a significant decrease in sensitivity.
