Plasma‐Sequence‐Engineered Atomic Layer Deposition of Ultra‐Thin SiNx for Enhanced Etching Resistance in Extreme Ultraviolet Pellicles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 11, 9 June 2026.
Plasma‐sequence‐engineered ALD (PSE‐ALD), based on sequential NH3 and N2 plasma pulses, enables ultrathin, dense SiNx films. ToF‐MS analysis confirms ligand removal via HCl evolution, while increased film density indicates network densification. The resulting SiNx coating provides robust protection of graphite under H2 plasma exposure.

Bioresorbable Mo–W Electrodes: Toward an Extended Operational Lifetime Through Controlled Alloying and Oxide Coating Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 11, 9 June 2026.
Bioresorbable electrochemical sensors face instability in biofluids. Although alloys can mitigate rapid in vivo dissolution, Mo–W remains underexplored for sensing. This work engineers Mo–W films with a nanocrystalline oxide coating, improving stability and enabling reliable oxygen and pH sensing for up to 10 days, highlighting their potential for ...

Crystallographic Analysis of a Nonvolatile HZO Phase Shifter Integrated on a Si3N4 Waveguide

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 11, 8 June 2026.
The nonvolatile resonance shift of an in‐plane HZO phase shifter integrated on a Si3N4 ring resonator is demonstrated through optical measurements under lateral bias. Combining 4D‐STEM with DFT simulations reveals phase redistribution and strain‐induced index changes as the microscopic origin of a nonvolatile photonic modulation.

Effect of Hydrotreating Severity on Jet Fuel Thermal Oxidation Stability of Olefinic Synthetic Kerosene

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 6, Page 2930-2940, June 2026.
The extent of hydrotreating that is required for olefinic kerosene to pass the jet fuel thermal oxidative stability test was investigated. Fouling species are destroyed after mild hydrotreating, and no further benefit is derived from more severe hydrotreating.

Adsorption of proteins at solid surfaces

open access: yes, 2018
Ellipsometry has a very high thin film sensitivity and can resolve sub-nm changes in the thickness of protein film on solid substrates. Being a technique based on photons in and photons out it can also be applied ad solid-liquid interfaces.

Fully Synthetic, Biomimicking Polysulfates With Tunable Anticoagulant and Endothelial Cell–Selective Bioactivity

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 26, Issue 6, June 2026.
Sulfated PHEMA‐based polyelectrolyte brushes are introduced as a reductionist platform to probe glycosaminoglycan‐inspired bioactivity. High charge density governs growth factor interactions and is associated with distinct vascular cell responses, enabling balanced endothelial and smooth muscle cell co‐culture.
