Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Geometric Optimization and Mechanical Performance Enhancement of Auxetic Structures for High‐Impact Applications Through Fused Deposition Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the mechanical performance of three auxetic structures, identifying a re‐entrant‐star hybrid as the most effective for impact absorption. Finite element simulations and experiments demonstrate significant gains in energy absorption and flexural strength after geometric optimization. This study investigates the mechanical performance

Quantifying the shape of nanoparticles: Segmentation and elongation measure

open access: yesZaštita Materijala, 2017
The influence of the shape of nanoparticles on the magnetic properties of nanoparticle materials is often mentioned, but is not much studied in literature. In order to better understand the magnetic properties of nanomaterials a very important step is to

Laser Metal Deposited Ti4822 Hollow Pipe: Experimental and Computational Modelling Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser metal deposition (LMD) of a crack‐free built Ti4822 alloys is challenging. This article reports outstanding characteristics of a hollow pipe that is built with LMD technology when a predicted, nontransformation substrate temperature of 800 °C is used.

KEPPRA: Key Epilepsy Prognostic Parameters with Radiomics in Acute Subdural Hematoma Before Craniotomy

open access: yesBrain Sciences
Background: Acute subdural hematoma (aSDH) is associated with a high risk of epilepsy, a complication linked to poor outcomes. Craniotomy is a known risk factor, with an epilepsy incidence of approximately 25%. This study evaluated radiomic features from
