Cooperative processes in Cs2NaYbF6 elpasolite crystals
Journal of Luminescence, 2014Abstract Spectroscopic and luminescent properties of Yb3+-doped Cs2NaYF6 and stoichiometric Cs2NaYbF6 crystals are studied in the infrared and visible spectral regions. The stoichiometric Cs2NaYbF6 compound demonstrates a visible emission when excited by the laser radiation with the wavelength of about 1 μm.

Thermodynamic properties of (NH4)2KGaF6 elpasolite
Physics of the Solid State, 2001The heat capacity of (NH4)2KGaF6 elpasolite is measured in the temperature range from 80 to 350 K. A sequence of three phase transitions at T 1=288.5 K, T 2=250 K, and T 3=244.5 K is revealed, and the thermodynamic characteristics of these transitions are determined.

Thermochemical investigations on chloro-elpasolites of lanthanum
Thermochimica Acta, 1994Abstract Elpasolites A2BLaCl6 with alkali metal chlorides (LiCl excepted) have been prepared from the melts. They are Cs2RbLaCl6 (dimorphous), Cs2KLaCl6 (trimorphous), Cs2NaLaCl6 and Rb2KLaCl6 which is stable only at T⩾748 K. According to X-ray diffraction measurements of crystal powders all compounds have modifications with the cubic elpasolite ...

Low-temperature specific heat of the Rb2KScF6 elpasolite
Physics of the Solid State, 2003The specific heat of single-crystal Rb2KScF6 is measured using ac calorimetry in the range 4–280 K. The results are discussed in the context of a group-theoretical analysis of possible distortions of the elpasolite structure and of experimental data obtained earlier with an adiabatic calorimeter in a narrower temperature region.

Computer modeling of lattice dynamics in halide elpasolites
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1991Abstract Lattice dynamics calculations were performed on the crystals K 2 NaScF 6 , K 2 NaGaF 6 and Cs 2 NaYCl 6 with cubic elpasolite structure, by means of pair potentials developed for lattice statics calculations. The predicted dispersion curves account well for the pressure dependence of Raman spectra.

Comparison of the detection efficiency of the four elpasolite scintillators
Journal of Instrumentation, 2023Abstract Elpasolite scintillator is a new inorganic scintillator with excellent performance, which can be used for neutron and γ dual mode measurement. The model of elpasolite scintillator detector was established by Geant4 program based on Monte Carlo method, and the detection efficiency of four kinds of elpasolite scintillator

Pulse Shape Discrimination With Selected Elpasolite Crystals
IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 2012In recent years, a number of materials from the elpasolite crystal family have been under development for either or both gamma ray and neutron detection. The scintillators show good energy resolution and thermal neutron detection efficiency. The latter is achieved due to the fact, that the selected compositions contain Li-6 ions.

Structural phase transition in the cubic elpasolite Rb2NaHoF6
Physica B+C, 1982Abstract Single crystal NMR and X-ray powder diffraction measurements show that at a temperature of 172±2 K the elpasolite Rb 2 NaHoF 6 undergoes a structural phase transition. Our X-ray data at 17 K are seen as evidence for a rotation of the F octahedra about a cubic axis by 5±1°. There is also a small shortening of the c -axis.

On the structural phase transition in rare earth elpasolites
Zeitschrift fr Physik B Condensed Matter, 1984The structural phase transition in two representatives of the rare earth elpasolite fluorides, Rb2NaHoF6 and Rb2NaTmF6, are studied in detail. The symmetry of the soft mode is determined from Raman spectra, X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data to be Γ4+.

Scintillation and anomalous emission in elpasolite Cs2LiLuCl6:Ce3+
Journal of Luminescence, 2006Abstract The luminescence and scintillation properties of Cs 2 LiLuCl 6 :0.5%Ce 3+ are presented. Special attention is devoted to a 9.4 ns fast emission at 275 nm that can only be excited via the highest cubic field 5d e state of Ce. Contrary to Cs 3 LuCl 6 and Cs 2 LiYCl 6 , where the same type of fast emission was observed, the emission in Cs 2 ...
