Aviation leads to the emission of CO2 but also exerts non-CO2 effects on climate (Lee et al., 2021). The latter include line-shaped condensation trails (contrails) and contrail cirrus that are known to cause warming. However, contrails can also form in already existing cirrus clouds.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.
