Protocol for quantifying miRNA trafficking across the endosomal membrane

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An in vitro protocol measures miRNA uptake into endosomes isolated from mammalian cell extracts, which are free of subcellular contaminants. Performed at 37 °C in the presence of ATP, it ensures the import of single‐stranded miRNA into the endosomal lumen.

The impact mechanism of telework on job performance: a cross-level moderation model of digital leadership

open access: yesScientific Reports
Traditional enterprise management believes that telecommuting activities are out of the enterprise's control, which may reduce staff performance. We use the extension of job demand-resource theory and work embeddedness theory to develop and test the ...

Every Poincaré gauge theory is conformal: A compelling case for dynamical vector torsion

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
The Poincaré gauge theory (PGT) of gravity provides a viable formulation of general relativity (Einstein–Cartan theory), and a popular model-building framework for modified gravity with torsion.

Dual native G‐quadruplex folding is associated with chromatin looping at the MYC locus

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
BG4‐detectable G‐quadruplex (G4) in HaCaT and NHEK keratinocytes identified folded and unfolded G4s enriched at promoters/TSSs and active enhancers, whereas unfolded G4s also overlapped weak/poised enhancers. At MYC–PVT1, 3C‐qPCR detected enhancer–promoter looping only when G4s were simultaneously folded at both regulatory elements under native ...

Noncommutativity and Duality through the Symplectic Embedding Formalism

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2010
This work is devoted to review the gauge embedding of either commutative and noncommutative (NC) theories using the symplectic formalism framework.

Heterotropic regulation and negative homotropic cooperativity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We identified a structural module common to some proteins that couple negative cooperativity with heterotropic regulation, two features that rarely coexist. These proteins are ring‐like and present an ordered asymmetry whereby noncontacting subunits are symmetric, and their tertiary structure differs from that of contacting subunits.

First-principles real-space embedding theory of the superconducting proximity effect

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
When a superconductor is placed in contact with a normal material, Cooper pairs penetrate the latter and induce superconductivity via the proximity effect. Despite its central role in quantum materials, superconducting devices, and topological platforms,

A Study on the Typologies of Embedded Development of Medical Social Work in the Context of Government Purchasing Services: Views of Medical Social Workers in 15 Public Hospitals in Shenzhen [PDF]

open access: yesZhongguo quanke yixue
Background As the medical service model in China transitions from unidirectional treatment to holistic health, medical social work, aimed at helping individuals help themselves, has gained more opportunities to integrate into the hospital setting ...

Avidin is evolutionarily conserved in fish but dispensable for development and resistance against Streptococcus agalactiae in zebrafish

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The presence of biotin‐binding avidin proteins in fish and their biological significance are poorly characterized. We cataloged fish avidins and demonstrate that they are widely present and evolutionarily conserved. We created avd knockout zebrafish and show that zebavidin is dispensable for development and that resistance of avd knockout embryos in ...

Axion wormholes in AdS compactifications

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
We find regular axionic Euclidean wormhole solutions in Type IIB string theory compactified on AdS 5 × S 5 / ℤ k $$ {\mathrm{AdS}}_5\times {\mathrm{S}}^5/{\mathrm{\mathbb{Z}}}_k $$ .
