Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

The effect of overnight culture after thawing of D3 cleavage-stage embryos on clinical pregnancy outcomes: focus on embryo development to day 4

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveThis study aims to investigate the impact of day-3 (D3) cleavage-stage embryo thawing with immediate transfer versus thawing and overnight culture before transfer on clinical outcomes.

Impact of TGF-β and ERK1/2 inhibition on preimplantation embryo development and quality [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Basic Medical Sciences
Objective(s): Preimplantation embryo culture is a critical phase in assisted reproductive technologies. The use of small molecules to modulate signaling pathways has emerged as a strategy to improve embryo viability.

Homozygous Transgenic Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) Plants by Anther Culture

open access: yesPlants, 2020
Production of homozygous lines derived from transgenic plants is one of the important steps for phenotyping and genotyping transgenic progeny. The selection of homozygous plants is a tedious process that can be significantly shortened by androgenesis ...

Culture and quality control of embryos [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 1998
Improvement of embryo quality during in-vitro culture can be achieved by understanding and controlling the requirements of gametes and embryos. The most obvious route is to alter culture media, but standardization could be influenced by diverse environmental factors.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Establishment of a Single-Oocyte Culture System for Pigs and Its Validation Using Curcumin as a Model Antioxidant for Oocyte Maturation

open access: yesAnimals
Since individual embryos cannot be evaluated in group culture, establishing a single culture from in vitro maturation to in vitro culture may provide new insights into oocyte and embryo quality.

Regulating Reprogenetics: Strategic Sacralisation and Semantic Message [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper forms part of the feminist critique of the regulatory consequences of biomedicine's systematic exclusion of the role of women's bodies in the development ofreprogenetic technologies.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

The Emergence of H7N7 Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus from Low Pathogenicity Avian Influenza Virus Using an in ovo Embryo Culture Model

open access: yesViruses, 2020
Outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza virus (HPAIV) often result in the infection of millions of poultry, causing up to 100% mortality. HPAIV has been shown to emerge from low pathogenicity avian influenza virus (LPAIV) in field outbreaks ...
