Universality of the EMC effect [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2005
Using effective field theory, we investigate nuclear modification of nucleon parton distributions (for example, the EMC effect). We show that the universality of the shape distortion in nuclear parton distributions (the factorisation of the Bjorken x and atomic number (A) dependence) is model independent and emerges naturally in effective field theory.

Identification of predictive biomarkers for endometrial cancer diagnosis and treatment response monitoring using plasma metabolome profiling

open access: yesCancer & Metabolism, 2023
Background Endometrial cancer (EMC) is the most common female genital tract malignancy with an increasing prevalence in many countries including Japan, a fact that renders early detection and treatment necessary to protect health and fertility.

Study of photon detection efficiency and position resolution of BESIII electromagnetic calorimeter

open access: yes, 2015
We study the photon detection efficiency and position resolution of the electromagnetic calorimeter (EMC) of the BESIII experiment. The control sample of the initial-state-radiation (ISR) process of $e^+e^-\rightarrow \gamma \mu^+\mu^-$ is used at $J ...

Case Report: Gene Heterogeneity in the Recurrent and Metastatic Lesions of a Myxoid Chondrosarcoma Patient With Aggressive Transformation

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2022
Extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma (EMC) is a rare soft tissue sarcoma. In view of the indolent course throughout the prolonged natural history of EMC, it was considered as a low-grade soft-tissue sarcoma.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Investigations on electromagnetic noises and interactions in electronic architectures : a tutorial case on a mobile system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Electromagnetic interactions become critic in embedded and smart electronic structures. The increase of electronic performances confined in a finite volume or support for mobile applications defines new electromagnetic environment and compatibility ...

A new behavioural model for performance evaluation of common mode chokes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A galvanically isolated three-phase AC/AC converter with a high-frequency AC-link has been analyzed from an EMC point of view. This is a special configuration because of a large number of switches, a high frequency transformer, and a fourwire output. The
