Cystic renal‐epithelial derived induced pluripotent stem cells from polycystic kidney disease patients

open access: yesStem Cells Translational Medicine, 2020
Autosomal‐dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is the most common inherited kidney disease, leading to kidney failure in most patients. In approximately 85% of cases, the disease is caused by mutations in PKD1.

Fast Charge–Discharge of LiNi0.9Co0.05Mn0.05 Enabled by a Bikitaite‐Infused Separator for Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bikitaite‐infused cellulose separator is introduced for Li metal batteries, leveraging bikitaite zeolite's ion‐conductive properties to regulate Li+‐ion flux and suppress dendrite growth. The membrane design ensures uniform Li plating, enhanced electrolyte wettability, and robust thermal/mechanical stability, delivering stable performance and low ...

New data strengthen the connection between Short Range Correlations and the EMC effect

open access: yes, 2012
Recently published measurements of the two nucleon short range correlation ($NN$-SRC) scaling factors, $a_2(A/d)$, strengthen the previously observed correlation between the magnitude of the EMC effect measured in electron deep inelastic scattering at $0.

Validation Of Naval Platform Electromagnetic Tools Via Model And Full-Scale Measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Reliable EMC predictions are very important in the design of a naval platform's topside. Currently, EMC predictions of a Navy ship are verified by scale model and full-scale measurements.

Evaluation of Spectral Estimation Parameters for Direct Sampling FFT-Based Measuring Receivers

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Signal Processing
The standard CISPR 16-1-1 defines the measuring receiver using a black-box approach and sets requirements for its accuracy and spectral properties. Traditionally, such test receivers were developed using a superheterodyne architecture.

Functional Blood‐Brain Barrier Crossing by Biomimetic M13 Phage Vectors for Targeted Neuronal Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates the M13 bacteriophage as a biomimetic nanovector capable of crossing in vitro models of the blood–brain barrier. By exploiting peculiar transcellular pathways, M13 avoids lysosomal degradation and preserves its structural integrity and functionality.

Proteomic Analysis Identifies Membrane Proteins Dependent on the ER Membrane Protein Complex

open access: yesCell Reports, 2019
Summary: The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane protein complex (EMC) is a key contributor to biogenesis and membrane integration of transmembrane proteins, but our understanding of its mechanisms and the range of EMC-dependent proteins remains ...

Loss of NLRP3 reduces oxidative stress and polarizes intratumor macrophages to attenuate immune attack on endometrial cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
IntroductionThe interaction between endometrial cancer (EMC) cells and intratumoral macrophages plays a significant role in the development of the disease. PYD domains-containing protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome formation triggers caspase-1/IL-1β signaling

Optofluidic Raman Analysis and Capacity Recovery in Li‐ion Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Operando Raman spectroscopy is used to monitor the degradation of commercial Li‐ion cells. Using a microfluidic access port, small amounts of electrolyte are sampled into a hollow‐core optical fibre, where fibre‐enhanced Raman analysis reveals Li+ solvation changes and solvent evolution.
