Human‐Guided Bayesian Optimization Enables High‐Throughput Laser Annealing of Mesoporous SiOx Anodes for Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An empirical‐aided active learning framework is developed to optimize high‐throughput laser‐induced photothermal annealing of silicon suboxide anodes. By integrating probabilistic machine learning with empirical domain knowledge, this approach achieves optimal electrochemical performance using limited experiments.

Implications of ocean color in the upper water thermal structure at NINO3.4 region: a sensitivity study for optical algorithms and ocean color variabilities

open access: yesGIScience & Remote Sensing, 2018
Chlorophyll a (Chl-a) has been the most commonly used biomass metric in biological oceanographic processes. Although limited to two-dimensional surfaces, remote-sensing tools have been successfully providing the most recent state of marine phytoplankton ...

Presidents of the EMC Society [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility Magazine, 2019
Periodically I like to publish the list of Past Presidents of the IEEE EMC Society because of their importance to the history of our Society. The responsibilities of the President are both formal and informal and there are many duties of the Presidents that go unnoticed by members of the Society.

Return of the EMC effect

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2001
The relationship between the properties of nuclear matter and structure functions measured in lepton-nucleus deep inelastic scattering is investigated using light front dynamics. We find that relativistic mean field models such as the Walecka, Zimanyi-Moszkowski (and point-coupling versions of the same) and Rusnak-Furnstahl models contain essentially ...

Metal Battery Anode: Rich in Electrons, Rich in Problems: A Critical Review from Industrial Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Metal‐anode batteries using Li, Na, Mg, and Ca offer exceptionally high energy density, but dendrites, unstable interphases, cracking, and pore formation hinder durability and safety. This review shows how careful electrolyte and interphase design can stabilize these reactive metals.

Computational Electromagnetics for EMC Problems of Integrated Circuits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The computational electromagnetics (CEM) technique has moved from pure mathematical analysis into design in engineering practice, It can provide a much easier and faster solution of prediction in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) characteristics than ...

The ER membrane protein complex is required to ensure correct topology and stable expression of flavivirus polyproteins

open access: yeseLife, 2019
Flaviviruses translate their genomes as multi-pass transmembrane proteins at the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. Here, we show that the ER membrane protein complex (EMC) is indispensable for the expression of viral polyproteins. We demonstrated that

Primary epithelial–myoepithelial carcinoma of the lung: Reporting a rare entity at a rare location

open access: yesInternational Journal of Noncommunicable Diseases, 2022
Epithelial–myoepithelial carcinoma (EMC) of the lung is a rare neoplasm, constituting about 0.1%–1% of all primary lung cancers. EMC usually has an indolent course with occasional distant metastasis.

In Situ Alkali Metal Exfoliation‐Coupled Dilute CO2 Electrolysis to Synthesize Interlayer‐Expanded Graphite for High‐Rate Lithium Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Converting CO2 into advanced carbon materials capable of meeting the rapid lithium storage demands of lithium‐ion batteries creates a mutually beneficial scenario for both energy and environmental sectors. Here, we propose a stepwise CO2 electrolysis approach to transform dilute CO2 into interlayer‐expanded graphite using molten salt electrolyzers ...
