Hydrogel‐Based Airway‐on‐Tube With Perfusable Endothelial Lumen and Outward Epithelialization

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hydrogel‐based airway‐on‐tube platform featuring a perfusable endothelial lumen and outward epithelialization is presented. The system supports primary human bronchial epithelial and lung microvascular endothelial coculture under air‐liquid interface conditions.

Circular RNA circNrip1 Interacts with SYNCRIP to Promote Neuropathic Pain by Stabilizing Tlr2 mRNA in Primary Sensory Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Model of circNrip1 (cNrip1) upregulation driving neuropathic pain mechanisms. After peripheral nerve injury, increased FUS triggers the formation and upregulation of cNrip1 in injured DRG neurons. Upregulated cNrip1 recruits SYNCRIP to the 3′‐UTR of Tlr2 mRNA by binding to both, thereby promoting SYNCRIP‐triggered Tlr2 mRNA stability and increasing ...

On signals compression by EMD [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2012
A new signals coding framework based on empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is introduced. EMD breaks down any signal into a reduced number of oscillating components called intrinsic modes functions (IMFs). Based on IMF properties, different coding strategies are presented.

Sustainable Materials Design With Multi‐Modal Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Critical mineral scarcity, high embodied carbon, and persistent pollution from materials processing intensify the need for sustainable materials design. This review frames the problem as multi‐objective optimization under heterogeneous, high‐dimensional evidence and highlights multi‐modal AI as an enabling pathway.

Vesicular expression and release of ATP from dopaminergic neurons of the mouse retina and midbrain

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2015
Vesicular nucleotide transporter (VNUT) is required for active accumulation of adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) into vesicles for purinergic neurotransmission however the cell types that express VNUT in the central nervous system remain unknown.

Remote Magnetomechanical Neuromodulation Uncovers Therapeutic Mechanisms for Alleviating Parkinsonian Symptoms in Freely Moving Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetomechanical neuromodulation using magnetic nanodiscs enables remote activation of neurons. In a hemiparkinsonian mouse model, alternating magnetic fields actuate the nanodiscs to generate torque that opens mechanosensitive ion channels within the subthalamic nucleus, thereby modulating basal ganglia motor circuitry.

Disease trajectory of SLE clinical endpoints and covariates affecting disease severity and probability of response: Analysis of pooled patient‐level placebo (Standard‐of‐Care) data to enable model‐informed drug development

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology, 2023
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease affecting multiple organ systems. Many investigational agents have failed or shown only modest effects when added to standard of care (SoC) therapy in placebo‐controlled trials, and only two ...
