Two-micron spectrophotometry of the galaxy NGC 253 [PDF]
A very strong Brackett-gamma hydrogen emission line, and the 2.3 micron CO stellar absorption feature were measured in NGC 253. The presence and strength of the CO feature indicates that late type giant stars produce most of the 2.2 micron continuum ...

Strong Variable Ultraviolet Emission from Y Gem: Accretion Activity in an AGB Star with a Binary Companion? [PDF]
Binarity is believed to dramatically affect the history and geometry of mass loss in AGB and post-AGB stars, but observational evidence of binarity is sorely lacking.

This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Dynamical Masses and Radiative Transfer Modeling of HD 698: A Be Binary in Evolutionary Transition
We present a detailed analysis of the early post-mass-transfer binary system HD 698 (V742 Cas), combining high-resolution optical spectroscopy, long-baseline interferometry, and radiative transfer modeling.

Emission-Line Variability in Quiescent Flare Stars [PDF]
Spectroscopic monitoring of five flare stars (UV Ceti, YZ CMi, BY Dra, YY Gem, and BD + 48 deg 1958A) reveals that the stars exhibit marked decreases in the Balmer and Ca II emission line strengths over intervals of one day or less. The variations can be explained by a nonuniform, patchy distribution of emitting regions on a rotating star.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

First Detection of Shock Waves in RRc Stars
Although shock waves have been well documented in fundamental-mode RRab stars, their existence in first-overtone pulsator stars, RRc stars, has remained uncertain. Building upon the spectroscopic frameworks established by M. Chadid et al., we present the

Based on an extensive spectral study of a photometrically confirmed sample of Mira variables, we find a relationship between relative Balmer emission-line strength and spectral temperature of O-rich Mira stars.

Properties of galactic B[e] supergiants. IV. Hen3-298 and Hen3-303 [PDF]
We present the results of optical and near-IR spectroscopic and near-IR photometric observations of the emission-line stars Hen3-298 and Hen3-303. Strong emission in the H-alpha line is found in both objects.
