Toxic and therapeutic effects of EMTP in obesity
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1969EMTP (Fenfluramine), a new anorexigenic drug without properties that stimulate the central nervous system, was used as an ad;unct to an 800 calorie diet in a 120 day, double‐blind, randomized control study of 36 obese veterans. The greatest weight loss occurred in patients who were given the drug in Period 1 of the study and the least occurred in ...

A Module Oriented EMTP Interface
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1984A new user interface has been developed for the EMTP (the ElectroMagnetic Transients Program developed at the Bonneville Power Administration). This interface uses the concept of "modules" to allow the interactive graphic assembly of complex simulations in an organized, user-friendly manner. These modules are defined formally, with each consisting of a

Suppression of Numerical Oscillations in the EMTP
IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1989When compared to other possible integration schemes for the EMTP, the trapezoidal rule of integration presents very good overall characteristics in terms of accuracy, efficiency, and run-off stability. During certain system conditions, however, the solution with trapezoidal may present sustained numerical oscillations (Fig. 1(a)).

More powerful simulation hardware is always preferred when it comes to accurate, efficient and economical simulation of large complex power systems. This paper proposes a FPGA-based EMT simulator which considers the detailed EMT model of synchronous generator, excitation system and transmission lines.

Implementation of the CDA procedure in the EMTP
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1990The application of the critical damping adjustment (CDA) technique to some of the main equipment models in the DCG/EPRI version of EMTP is presented. The CDA procedure eliminates the numerical oscillations that can occur in transients simulations that use the trapezoidal rule of integration.

This paper presents the model of a Static Synchronous Series Compensator with the simulation package EMTP RV. The model uses a neutral point clamped (NPC) voltage source converter (VSC) to generate a high quality waveform. The model operation is verified with two types of controllers: Direct and Indirect to validate their mode of operation.

A static compensator model for the EMTP
IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1992A static voltampere-reactive (VAr) compensator (SVC) model based on nodal analysis, is presented. The model is integrated in the electromagnetic transients program (EMTP) with minimal interface error and by taking into account initialization. The model is basically a generic compensator using thyristor controlled reactors.
