Encapsulation of Gases

2021
Gases such as carbon dioxide, ethylene, nitrous oxide and sulfur dioxide are widely used in food production. However, the conventional ways to utilize gases from high-pressure cylinders or gas-producing processes (e.g., carbon dioxide from fermentation process) have limitations regarding safety, handling, and storage.

Encapsulated Environment

Comprehensive Physiology, 2013
Abstract In many occupational settings, clothing must be worn to protect individuals from hazards in their work environment. However, personal protective clothing (PPC) restricts heat exchange with the environment due to high thermal resistance and low water vapor permeability.

Novel nano-encapsulated probiotic agents: Encapsulate materials, delivery, and encapsulation systems

Journal of Controlled Release, 2022
Gut microbes are closely associated with most human health. When ingested orally, probiotics can effectively regulate the composition and quantity of human intestinal microorganisms, which is beneficial to human health. However, probiotics will be affected by the harsh environment of the digestive tract during the in vivo transportation process, and ...

Encapsulation Technologies

Tissue Engineering, 1995
Encapsulation systems have been developed in which cells are separated from the immune system of the host by permselective barriers. These systems do not require a life-long regimen of high dose immunosuppressive drugs to prevent immune rejection. Furthermore, they offer a solution to the problem of human cell procurement by permitting use of cells and

Encapsulation of vitamin A

Journal of Microencapsulation, 1989
Vitamin A was protected from degradation in the first compartment of the ruminant stomach by encapsulation by a phase-separation technique. The matrix components consisted of substituted cellulosic materials, fatty acids or a variety of proteins. Antioxidants such as butylated hydroxytoluene and ethoxyquin were incorporated in the formulations.

Molecular Encapsulation

Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2002
Louis Kahn, architect of the Salk Institute in LaJolla, said "even a common, ordinary brick wants to be something more than it is". Suppose that were also true of molecules. We know that they can and do aggregate; they give complex structures, and by doing so they acquire new properties--functions that may not be apparent from a study of the individual

Effects of encapsulation elasticity on the stability of an encapsulated microbubble

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2009
A model for gas transport from an encapsulated microbubble into the surrounding medium is developed and investigated incorporating the effects of encapsulation elasticity. Encapsulation elasticity stabilizes microbubbles against dissolution and explains the long shelf life of microbubble contrast agent.

Insulin encapsulation

Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2008
Many researchers all over the world are exploring various methods to find better insulin delivery routes for diabetic patients. Microencapsulation in biodegradable polymeric matrices is the source of developing new insulin formulations. This paper will attempt to explain the techniques utilized for insulin microencapsulation, their specifications and ...
