Defining the “to” in end-to-end models [PDF]
Robust models relating climate change to fish production require an adequate description of planktonic intermediaries between phytoplankton and fish in end-to-end models.

Putting An End to End-to-End: Gradient-Isolated Learning of Representations
We propose a novel deep learning method for local self-supervised representation learning that does not require labels nor end-to-end backpropagation but exploits the natural order in data instead. Inspired by the observation that biological neural networks appear to learn without backpropagating a global error signal, we split a deep neural network ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Summary: Background: Social connection is a key determinant of health, but its role in shaping end-of-life outcomes is poorly understood. We examined changes in structure, function, and quality components of social connection in older people's last ...

Standardization of microanastomoses and comparsion of “end to end” and “end in end” technics
Microsurgery is used more and more in medicine in last years. Before clinical practice, microsurgical education is absolutely necessary. Experimental microvascular anastomosis which is a part of microsurgical edvantion, and standardization of the ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

End-to-end sequential consistency [PDF]
Sequential consistency (SC) is arguably the most intuitive behavior for a shared-memory multithreaded program. It is widely accepted that language-level SC could significantly improve programmability of a multiprocessor system. However, efficiently supporting end-to-end SC remains a challenge as it requires that both compiler and hardware optimizations

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
