Regulation of endo-polygalacturonase activity inSaccharomyces cerevisiae [PDF]
Pectolytic activity in Saccharomyces cerevisiae is due to the secretion of an endo-polygalacturonase encoded by the PGU1 gene. The ability to degrade polygalacturonic acid has been shown to vary between different strains. In this study, we attempted to elucidate how pectolytic activity is regulated in S. cerevisiae and to determine whether the means of

Separation of endo-polygalacturonase using aqueous two-phase partitioning [PDF]
The partitioning of endo-polygalacturonase (endo-PG) in polyethylene glycol (PEG)-polyvinyl alcohol (PVA10000) and PEG-hydroxypropyl starch (Reppal PES100) aqueous two-phase systems was studied, and revealed the possibility of using aqueous two-phase extraction to purify and concentrate endo-PG from its clarified fermentation broth.

Cold shock treatment extends shelf life of naturally ripened or ethylene-ripened avocado fruits. [PDF]
Avocado is an important tropical fruit with high commercial value, but has a relatively short storage life. In this study, the effects of cold shock treatment (CST) on shelf life of naturally ripened and ethylene-ripened avocado fruits were investigated.

The necrotrophic fungal pathogen Sclerotinia sclerotiorum secretes oxalic acid and endo-polygalacturonase (endo-PG) in host plants. Oxalic acid acidifies the plant tissue to values more suitable to endo-PG activity. However, we observed that the infected
