All the Same? The Secret Life of Prion Strains within Their Target Cells
Prions are infectious β-sheet-rich protein aggregates composed of misfolded prion protein (PrPSc) that do not possess coding nucleic acid. Prions replicate by recruiting and converting normal cellular PrPC into infectious isoforms.

Cell division cycle 7 kinase is a negative regulator of cell-mediated collagen degradation.
Although extensive work has delineated many of the mechanisms of extracellular matrix (ECM) production, far less is known about pathways that regulate ECM degradation. This is particularly true of cellular internalization and degradation of matrix, which

Molecularly imprinted polymeric nanocarriers (nanoMIPs) offer robust, antibody‐mimetic platforms to overcome the blood‐brain barrier. The article surveys nanoMIP design and ligand‐directed surface engineering that harness receptor‐mediated transcytosis, and highlights therapeutic and diagnostic applications in neurodegeneration, brain tumors and ...

This study introduces a biomimetic nanoplatform (MTCA@C) designed for precise cancer therapy. It targets mitochondria to induce dysfunction through photodynamic activation, while concurrently blocking mitophagy via lysosomal alkalinization. The platform further triggers methuosis, resulting in tumor cell death through vacuolization and energy pathway ...

A genome‐wide CRISPR screen and identifies PIK3CA as a key regulator of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) uptake is performed. Modulating PIK3CA with small‐molecule inhibitor BAY1082439 enhanced LNP uptake, siRNA delivery, and gene silencing in a variety of epithelial cells, and improved therapeutic outcomes in vivo.

Entry of sapelovirus into IPEC-J2 cells is dependent on caveolae-mediated endocytosis
Background Porcine sapelovirus (PSV), a species of the genus Sapelovirus within the family Picornaviridae, are a significant cause of enteritis, pneumonia, polioencephalomyelitis and reproductive disorders in pigs.

Endothelial Cell‐Based Vascular Bandages for Blood–Brain Barrier Repair and Targeted siRNA Delivery
mECs restore blood–brain barrier function after cerebral ischemia–reperfusion by simultaneously targeting, supporting, and regulating the damaged vasculature. mECs home to injured cerebral vessels through interactions with highly expressed VLA‐4, reinforce endothelial integrity by forming new junctions, and, upon OGD‐SN treatment, acquire enhanced ...
