Endodermal Sinus Tumour

Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, 1972
A 32‐year‐old woman, who attended regularly for follow‐up because of a carcinoma in situ of the cervix uteri, developed symptoms of a rapidly progressing malignant process in the pelvis over a period of a few months. At operation large masses of tumour were found in both ovaries as well as diffuse metastases throughout the whole abdomen, and bilateral ...

Vaginal endodermal sinus tumor

The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2005
Malignant germ cell tumors are rare tumors of childhood accounting less than 3% of pediatric malignancies, and endodermal sinus tumor (EST) is the most common histological subtype. The vagina is an extremely rare site for germ cell tumors (GCT). A one-year female was admitted with history of bleeding per vagina.

Endodermal sinus tumor of the clitoris

Gynecologic Oncology, 1980
Abstract A primary endodermal sinus tumor of the clitoris in a 2-year-old is discussed. The serum level of alpha fetoprotein was not elevated. A favorable outcome after exploratory laparotomy and wide local excision might relate to early diagnosis or less virulent patterns of spread secondary to the clitoral location.

Actin cytoskeleton of extraembryonic endoderm and teratocarcinoma-derived endoderm cells

Experimental Cell Research, 1989
Distinct F-actin- and myosin-containing stress fibers were observed in situ in many endoderm cells of parietal yolk sacs from 11-day mouse embryos. In visceral endoderm (VE) such fibers were not seen, and F-actin was concentrated in the cell periphery.

Induction by the endoderm in birds

Wilhelm Roux' Archiv fr Entwicklungsmechanik der Organismen, 1933
1. The endoderm was separated from the epiblast in chick and duck embryos of young primitive streak stages, and then the two layers of tissue were replaced so that their longitudinal axes were diametrically opposed: i. e. the anterior part of the endoderm lay under the posterior region of the epiblast, and the posterior part of the endoderm under the ...

Endodermal sinus tumour of the face

Pathology, 1974
Summary A case of endodermal sinus tumour (yolk sac carcinoma) involving the right side of the face and probably arising in the maxillary sinus is reported. The clinical course and autopsy findings are presented. The authors believe it to be the first time such a tumour has been described in this region.

Origin and evolution of endoderm and mesoderm

The International Journal of Developmental Biology, 2003
Germ layers are defined as cell layers that arise during early animal development, mostly during gastrulation, and that give rise to all tissues and organs in adults. The evolutionary origin of the inner germ layers, endoderm and mesoderm, and their relationship have been a matter of debate for decades.

Endodermal sinus tumor of the mediastinum

Cancer, 1982
Endodermal sinus tumor (EST) of the mediastinum is a rare germ-cell neoplasm affecting mainly young adult males. Ten patients with EST were treated with a multimodality approach that included surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. All patients had relapses after achieving a transient response except one who is still in complete remission more than ...

ENDODERMAL SINUS TUMOR OF THE VAGINA

Journal of Urology, 2000
J. Y., a 16-month-old Asian girl, presented with suspected gross hematuria. Physical examination revealed the source of bleeding to be the vagina. No masses were palpable on examination and she was otherwise in good health. Urinalysis and multichannel chemistry (Chem 20) panel were normal. Serum a-fetoprotein (AFP) was 16,500 ng./ml.

Initiation and early patterning of the endoderm

2001
We review the early stages of endoderm formation in the major animal models. In Amphibia maternal molecules are important in initiating endoderm formation. This is followed by successive signaling events that establish and then pattern the endoderm.
