Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 2001
Endogenous endophthalmitis still presents a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge even with improvements in therapeutic modalities. The main prognostic factor is the virulence of the causative organism: once the organism enters the eye, it rapidly destroys ocular tissues. With the increasing ability to prolong the life of very ill patients, incidence of

Endogenous Cryptococcal Endophthalmitis
Southern Medical Journal, 1981We have described a case of Cryptococcus neoformans endophthalmitis, especially rare in the absence of simultaneous CNS involvement. The key to management appears to lie in early diagnosis, which is difficult because there are multiple causes of uveitis; clinical examination will not establish the specific cause. If clinical improvement is not apparent

Endogenous Fungal Endophthalmitis
International Ophthalmology Clinics, 1996Endogenous fungal endophthalmitis has increased in the past half-century because of the advent of antibiotics and indwelling catheters. The disease process can produce highly suggestive, though nonpathognomonic, ocular signs that assist the clinician in reaching a diagnosis.
