ENDOR study of nitrogen hyperfine and quadrupole tensors in vanadyl porphyrins of heavy crude oil [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Solids, 2016
We report the observation of pulsed electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) spectrum caused by interactions of the nitrogen nuclei 14N with the unpaired electron of the paramagnetic vanadyl complexes VO2+ of vanadyl porphyrins in natural crude oil.

Selective 13C labelling reveals the electronic structure of flavocoenzyme radicals

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Flavocoenzymes are nearly ubiquitous cofactors that are involved in the catalysis and regulation of a wide range of biological processes including some light-induced ones, such as the photolyase-mediated DNA repair, magnetoreception of migratory birds ...

Deep Sequencing of FLT3‐ITD Enables Response Evaluation and Post‐Treatment Monitoring in Childhood AML: An Exploratory Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An internal tandem duplication in the gene encoding Fms‐like tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3‐ITD) is associated with high relapse risk and poor prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and plays a crucial role in treatment decisions. Measurable residual disease (MRD) analysis of FLT3‐ITD during and after treatment has shown prognostic ...

Nuclear relaxation effects in Davies ENDOR variants.

open access: yes, 2008
A recent article by Yang and Hoffman [T.-C. Yang, B.M. Hoffman, J. Magn. Reson., 181 (2006) 280] presents a 'Davies/Hahn ENDOR multi-sequence' in which the alpha and beta peaks of an electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) spectrum can be distinguished.

Increased Risk of Sarcomas in Children With Congenital Anomalies: Findings From the Genetic Overlap Between Anomalies and Cancer in Kids (GOBACK) Registry Linkage Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pediatric sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of tumors that contribute disproportionately to cancer mortality in children. Although congenital anomalies are among the strongest known risk factors for childhood cancer, the risk of specific sarcoma subtypes among affected individuals has not yet been thoroughly evaluated. Procedure We

Interaction of Novel Metal Complexes with DNA: Synthetic and Structural Aspects

open access: yesCHIMIA, 2009
Metal ions bind to nucleic acids at various positions. This binding can be modulated by using metal complexes with appropriate ligands. Novel mono- and especially dinuclear metal complexes could be a powerful tool to detect rare, but still ...

Efficacy and Safety Analysis of Roxarestat in Regulating Renal Anemia in Patients on Maintenance Hemodialysis

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the efficacy and safety of roxarestat versus recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in the management of renal anemia in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Methods This was a prospective, open‐label, randomized controlled trial.

High-Field (3.4 T) Electron Paramagnetic Resonance, 1H Electron-Nuclear Double Resonance, ESEEM, HYSCORE, and Relaxation Studies of Asphaltene Solubility Fractions of Bitumen for Structural Characterization of Intrinsic Carbon-Centered Radicals

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2022
Petroleum asphaltenes are considered the most irritating components of various oil systems, complicating the extraction, transportation, and processing of hydrocarbons. Despite the fact that the paramagnetic properties of asphaltenes and their aggregates

Proton-Electron Hyperfine Coupling Constants of the Chlorophyll a Cation Radical by ENDOR Spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1977
In this paper we describe the assignment of the major coupling constants in monomer chlorophyll a cation free radical by ENDOR spectroscopy. To facilitate chemical manipulation methylpyrochlorophyllide a has been used as a stand-in, and a suite of six ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.
