Hyperfine interactions of paramagnetic radiation-induced defect centres in advanced ceramic breeder pebbles

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
Advanced ceramic breeder (ACB) pebbles consisting of 65 mol% lithium orthosilicate (Li4SiO4) and 35 mol% lithium metatitanate (Li2TiO3) are developed for tritium breeding in the European Union’s (EU) helium cooled pebble bed (HCPB) breeder blanket ...

Determination of signs of hyperfine coupling constants for an S=½ system through E.P.R., ENDOR and double ENDOR [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
A systematic method of obtaining relative signs of hyperfine coupling constants is described. It applies to systems consisting of (a) a set of one or more nuclei coupled fairly strongly to the electron spin, and possessing a two-fold (or higher) axis of ...

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

ESR and ENDOR in V-Band (III)-ENDOR Mechanism in Rotating Frame-Laboratory Frame- [PDF]

open access: yes, 1970
From our ENDOR experiments made on Cr3+ in A1203 in the V-band region it has been conc1uded that 3d electrons of Cr3+ couple with the AP7 nuc1ei through the dipole-dipole interactions which are attributed to the so-called the distant ENDOR.

Improved Early Referral in Long‐Term Survivor Care With Institutional Standardized Practice Among Childhood Leukemia Survivors#

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In 2018, the Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Center Leukemia Program implemented a practice standard to support the transition from treatment to survivorship that includes shared, alternating care between leukemia and survivorship clinicians and a reminder to refer survivors to the long‐term survivor clinic (LTSC) 2 years after ...

The Necromancer of Endor (1 Samuel, 28): Body, Power, and Transgression in the Visual Construction of Witchcraft

open access: yesReligions
This article examines the visual reception of the woman of Endor (1 Sam 28) and her gradual integration into the Western imaginary of the witch. In the first section, it offers a concise overview of the formation of witchcraft in late medieval and early ...

ENDOR study of nitrogen hyperfine and quadrupole tensors in vanadyl porphyrins of heavy crude oil [PDF]

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Solids, 2016
We report the observation of pulsed electron-nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) spectrum caused by interactions of the nitrogen nuclei 14N with the unpaired electron of the paramagnetic vanadyl complexes VO2+ of vanadyl porphyrins in natural crude oil.

Health Literacy, Self‐Efficacy and Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease Among Caregivers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder in which abnormal haemoglobin leads to severe anaemia, painful crises and organ failure. Caregivers’ health literacy (HL) – their ability to assess, understand and apply information, and interact with healthcare professionals – is crucial for managing children with SCD, yet ...
