Christian-Jewish Polemics in the 2nd–3rd centuries and Necromancy (Mart. Pionii 13–14) [PDF]
The article deals with the passage of the “Martyrdom of Pionios the Presbyter and his com-panions” (BHG 1546), where the martyr called Christians who came to him in prison to remain faithful to Christ and not to succumb to the Jews seeking to convert ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Conventional electron paramagnetic resonance for studying synthetic calcium phosphates with metal impurities (Mn2+, Cu2+, Fe3+) [PDF]
Calcium phosphate (CaP) based materials are widely recognized as the most suitable matrix for bone tissue engineering. The cationic and anionic substitution of CaP structure by the elements and groups of biological importance is the effective way to ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

ESR and ENDOR in V-band (II) [PDF]
The distant ENDOR signal of Al2O3 (0.3% Cr3+) was obtained in V-band region. The central frequency of the distant ENDOR signal was 17.9 Mc/sec which was about five times compared with the value that J. Lambe had obtained in X-band region.

Radicals initiated by gamma rays in selected amino acids and collagen
Calf skin collagen and three amino acids essential for its structure, namely glycine, L-proline and 4-hydroxyl-L-proline, were irradiated with gamma rays up to a dose of 10 kGy.

E.s.r., ENDOR, and Triple Resonance of Fluoro-substituted Fluorenone Ketyls [PDF]
Electron spin resonance (e.s.r.) and electron nuclear double resonance (ENDOR) spectra have been observed from dilute solutions of the radical anions of 1 -, 2-, 3-, and 4-fluoro-and 2,7-difluoro-fluorenone in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at temperatures below -

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
