Introducing PNEUMA: A Hybrid Soft Pneumatic Fabric Bidirectional Actuation Module for Wearable Robotics

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study presents a soft pneumatic fabric bidirectional actuation module (PNEUMA) capable of generating high torque in both bending directions within a single integrated architecture. PNEUMA achieves up to 50 Nm with reduced inflation volume and a lightweight design.

RHOJ derived peptide promotes chemosensitivity by inhibiting glutamine metabolism in gastric cancer

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Chemoresistance is a cause of chemotherapy failure in gastric cancer (GC) treatment. Recent studies have shown that the dysregulation of glutamine metabolism plays a pivotal role in promoting chemoresistance.

A Low‐Cost, Handheld Optical Stiffness Sensor for Minimally Invasive Surgery

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A novel handheld stiffness sensor is presented for real‐time tissue stiffness characterization. By simultaneously sensing contact force and tissue deformation, the device enables accurate stiffness quantification without requiring precise manual control. This approach offers a promising solution for intraoperative tumor detection and minimally invasive

Is early endoscopy in the emergency room beneficial in patients with bleeding peptic ulcer? A " fortuitously controlled " study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS: In previous randomized trials, early endoscopy improved the outcome in patients with bleeding peptic ulcer, though most of these studies defined "early" as endoscopy performed within 24 hours after admission.

A Whole‐Head Finite Element Model for Electrical Neuromodulation via Visual Brain‐Machine Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multimodal, personalized head model is presented that integrates the entire visual pathway with surrounding tissues to simulate electrical stimulation of the optic nerve. In vivo validation in humans and goats, plus systematic component‐elimination analysis, demonstrates the high accuracy of the comprehensive model.

Colon capsule endoscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The colon capsule endoscopy is designed for direct visualization of the colon through passive propulsion through peristalsis. In contrast to small bowel capsule endoscopy, the colon capsule carries two cameras at each end with a wide viewing angle of 172

IL‐7R‐Enriched Extracellular Vesicles From the Thymus Drive Colitis via Promoting Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) pathogenesis remains unclear. This study reveals that thymus‐originated IL‐7R‐enriched extracellular vesicles exacerbate colitis by promoting neutrophil extracellular traps via a thymus‐gut axis, uncovering an inter‐organ communication mechanism in inflammatory bowel disease pathogenesis.
