Peripheral Corneal Endotheliopathy and Pars Planitis
Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, 1996A peripheral corneal endotheliopathy (PCE), named autoimmune endotheliopathy was described in association with corneal graft rejection and as an isolated corneal alteration unrelated to surgery, trauma, or infection. It has also been found in patients with pars planitis (PP), but the significance of this association is unknown.

Presumed Autoimmune Corneal Endotheliopathy
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1988I reviewed 20 previously published cases of presumed autoimmune corneal endotheliopathy. The disease appeared clinically with stromal edema and a slowly migrating line of keratic precipitates. All patients had acute stromal edema and keratic precipitates, and decreased visual acuity. Anterior chamber cells were noted in 11 patients.

Proliferative Endotheliopathy With Iris Abnormalities
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1979Sixteen cases of essential iris atrophy and two of iris nevus (Cogan-Reese) syndrome were reviewed retrospectively by light and electron microscopy. Varying degrees of corneal endothelial proliferation onto the trabecular meshwork and anterior iris were seen in all cases.

Hereditary endotheliopathy with retinopathy, nephropathy, and stroke(HERNS)
Neurology, 1997We describe a Chinese American family with a hereditary syndrome consisting of retinopathy, nephropathy, and stroke, affecting 11 members spanning three generations. Ophthalmologic evaluations revealed macular edema with capillary dropout and perifoveal microangiopathic telangiectases.
