Evaluation of progression free survival as surrogate endpoint for overall survival for prostate cancer treatment

open access: yes, 2012
In some clinical research, the endpoint of greatest relevance to inferences concerning therapeutic efficacy is frequently not practical or even feasible to measure.

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Establishing and using threshold of surrogate endpoint in relation to clinical endpoint

open access: yes
[[abstract]]Clinical trials are an essential aspect of the drug development process. Clinical endpoints and surrogate endpoints are two terms used in clinical trials to measure the effectiveness of a treatment.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Sample size determination for time-to-event endpoints in randomized selection trials with generalized exponential distribution

open access: yesHeliyon
Randomized selection trials are frequently used to compare experimental treatments that have the potential to be beneficial, but they often do not include a control group.

Determination of Trace Amounts of Hydrofluoric Acid in Non-Aqueous Solutions by the Coulometric Titration Method

open access: yesSensors, 2018
For monitoring of trace amounts of hydrofluoric acid in the organic fluorine chemical industry, a facile method for determination of the hydrofluoric acid in an ethanol solution of lithium chloride, by coulometric titration, was proposed.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
