Improving PARP inhibitor efficacy in bladder cancer without genetic BRCAness by combination with PLX51107

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.

Effectiveness of Circuit and Fartlek Exercises to Increase Aerobic Endurance in Adolescent Futsal Players

open access: yesInternational Journal of Disabilities Sports and Health Sciences
Aerobic endurance is an important component in futsal sports games, so it requires an exercise that can increase aerobic endurance. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of circuit training with fartlek exercises to increase aerobic endurance ...

Impact of protein supplementation during endurance training on changes in skeletal muscle transcriptome

open access: yesBMC Genomics, 2020
Background Protein supplementation improves physiological adaptations to endurance training, but the impact on adaptive changes in the skeletal muscle transcriptome remains elusive.

Analysis of the Effects of Dietary Pattern on the Oral Microbiome of Elite Endurance Athletes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Although the oral microbiota is known to play a crucial role in human health, there are few studies of diet x oral microbiota interactions, and none in elite athletes who may manipulate their intakes of macronutrients to achieve different metabolic ...

Endurance Training Of Trained Athletes-An Electromyogram Study

open access: yes2005 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology 27th Annual Conference, 2005
Little is known about the mechanism that improves the capabilities of athletes by high, intensity interval training (HIT). This study was conducted to determine the neurophysiological changes due to HIT. Changes in surface electromyography (SEMG) in well-trained endurance cyclists due to the training were identified.

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Protein and the Adaptive Response With Endurance Training: Wishful Thinking or a Competitive Edge?

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2018
The significance of carbohydrates for endurance training has been well established, whereas the role of protein and the adaptive response with endurance training is unclear. Therefore, the aim of this perspective is to discuss the current evidence on the

Impact of exercise endurance training on pur gene expression and cardiac function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Endurance training has significant effects on the renewal of heart tissue, including myosin heavy chain (MHC) proteins. On the other side, Purine-rich element-binding protein β (pur) decreases the αMHC gene expression.

Methylation biomarkers can distinguish pleural mesothelioma from healthy pleura and other pleural pathologies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.

Meta‐analysis of high‐intensity interval training and alternative modalities for enhancing aerobic and anaerobic endurance in young athletes

open access: yesPhysiological Reports
This meta‐analysis examined whether HIIT outperforms low‐intensity endurance training (LIET), generic training (GT), or sport‐specific drills (SSD) in improving aerobic and anaerobic endurance in youth athletes.
