A New Structure of High Voltage Gain SEPIC Converter for Renewable Energy Applications
The paper proposes a new structure of SEPIC with high voltage gain for renewable energy applications. The proposed circuit is designed by amalgamating the conventional SEPIC with a boosting module.

TECHNOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF RAW CLAY BASED CERAMIC TILES: INFLUENCE OF TALC
Local clay from Burkina Faso has been used as a basic raw material in the formulation of ceramic tile with a natural talc (0 - 4% wt) as a flux. The used sintering temperatures are between 950 and 1100 °C with one hour as hold at heating rate of 5 °C∙min-

Required energy gain in the linac [PDF]
The purpose of this note is to determine how much energy is required for each bunch at the end of the linac such that 100 GeV center of mass collision energy at the IP may be achieved. Once this has been ascertained it is possible to decide how much energy per station in the linac is needed, considering the effects of beamloading, shortened pieces of ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Impacts of Shading and Glazing Combinations on Residential Energy Use in a Hot Dry Climate [PDF]
A residential building in Tucson, Arizona, was studied to evaluate opportunities for reducing cooling energy use in a hot dry climate. The reduction of solar heat gain was strongly influenced by spectrally selective windows, architectural shading, and ...

Cooking increases net energy gain from a lipid-rich food
Starch, protein, and lipid are three major sources of calories in the human diet. The unique and universal human practice of cooking has been demonstrated to increase the energy gained from foods rich in starch or protein.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.
