We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Pattern and Predictors of Weight Gain During Pregnancy Among HIV-1-Infected Women from Tanzania [PDF]
Progression of HIV disease is often accompanied by weight loss and wasting. Gestational weight gain is a strong determinant of maternal and neonatal outcomes; however, the pattern and predictors of weight gain during pregnancy among HIV-positive women ...

Dissociation energies of the Ga2, In2, and GaIn molecules
The group III metal dimers Ga2 and In2 and the newly identified intermetallic molecule GaIn were investigated in a Knudsen cell-mass spectrometric study of the vapors over gallium–indium alloys. From the all-gas equilibria analyzed by the second-law and third-law methods the following dissociation energies were derived; D00 (Ga2)=110.8±4.9 kJ mol−1 ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
