Bounded gain of energy on the breathing circle billiard
The Breathing Circle is a 2-dimensional generalization of the Fermi Accelerator. It is shown that the billiard map associated to this model has invariant curves in phase space, implying that any particle will have bounded gain of energy.

Electron energy-gain spectroscopy
8 pags., 2 figs. We introduce electron energy-gain spectroscopy as a tool to yield information on local optical excitations of nanostructured systems using transmission electron microscopes equipped with external optical illumination. The new spectroscopy combines the superb spatial resolution of electron microscopes with unprecedented energy ...

Energy Gaining Windows for Residential Buildings
This paper presents three different low energy windows for residential buildings which have been developed at the Technical University of Denmark during the last 8 years. The three windows are designed to maximize the net energy gain. The net energy gain of windows is the solar gain minus the heat loss integrated over the heating season. The solar gain

The water–energy–food (WEF) security nexus: the policy perspective of Bangladesh
This paper provides a review of the emerging literature on the water?energy?food (WEF) nexus and then analyses the nexus in the context of Bangladesh. Results suggest that the WEF nexus is not yet recognized in the policy documents of Bangladesh, while ...
