Energy release rate based dynamic crack propagation
An energy release rate based simulation method for dynamic fracture mechanics is developed to model crack initiation and propagation in elastic–plastic solid. Potential crack surface is modeled by a series of paired nodes bonded together by nodal constraint forces before crack propagation.

Lengthwise Crack Study of a Beam with Non-Linear Creep
An analytical study of the strain energy release rate for an inhomogeneous beam structure with a lengthwise crack subjected to non-linear creep is developed. The beam is inhomogeneous along its length.

Is the galactic corona produced by galactic flares? [PDF]
The effect of the differential rotation of the disk of the Galaxy on magnetic field which penetrates the disk is considered. The magnetic field will be progressively distorted from a potential (current-free) form and will at some stage become unstable ...

A similarity criterion for forest growth curves [PDF]
Comparison of forest growth curves has led many to the conclusion that there is a similarity between forest stands growing in different conditions. Here we treat the same subject from the viewpoint of similarity theory.
