Risk Assessment of Cyber Attacks on Power Grids Considering the Characteristics of Attack Behaviors
The quick development of smart grids coupled with IoT devices has opened breaches of security leading to cyberattacks done by attackers with different purposes. In this study, a behavior model is proposed to investigate the risk of cyber attacks on power

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Optimizing Green Energy Systems
Energy production throughout the world is transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable sources such as wind power and solar power. This transition has been gradual—over half of the world’s electricity is still produced by coal, oil, and gas—but must accelerate to meet global emission targets.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Energy Optimization of Road Tunnel Lighting Systems [PDF]
A road tunnel is an enclosed and covered infrastructure for the vehicular traffic. Its lighting system provides 24 h of artificial sources only, with a higher amount of electric power used during the day. Due to safety reasons, when there is natural lighting outside the tunnel, the lighting levels in the stretches right after the entrance and before ...

Quark-based Description of Nuclear Matter with Simulated Annealing
We calculate ground-state properties of a many-quark system in the string-flip model using variational Monte Carlo methods. The many-body potential energy of the system is determined by finding the optimal grouping of quarks into hadrons.
