The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Fault Diagnosis Model of Power Transformers Based on Dissolved Gas Analysis Features Selection and Improved Krill Herd Algorithm Optimized Support Vector Machine

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, a set of dissolved gas analysis (DGA) new feature combinations is selected as input from the mixed DGA feature quantity, and an improved krill herd (IKH) algorithm optimized support vector machine (SVM) transformer fault diagnosis model is

Impact of forecasting on energy system optimization

open access: yesAdvances in Applied Energy
Linear programs are frequently employed to optimize national energy system models, which are used to find a minimum-cost energy system. For the operation, they assume perfect forecasting of the weather and demands over the whole optimization horizon and can therefore perfectly fit the energy systems’ design and operation.

A Robust Optimization Approach for Smart Energy Market Revenue Management

open access: yes, 2023
We propose a network optimization model for smart energy market management in the context of an uncertain environment. The network optimization considers the stochastic programming approach to capture the randomness of the unknown demands. We utilize the

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Risk Assessment of Cyber Attacks on Power Grids Considering the Characteristics of Attack Behaviors

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The quick development of smart grids coupled with IoT devices has opened breaches of security leading to cyberattacks done by attackers with different purposes. In this study, a behavior model is proposed to investigate the risk of cyber attacks on power

Thermoeconomic approach for the analysis of control system of energy plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper a thermoeconomic approach is applied to the dynamic model of a Power System in order to investigate the effects of the control system on the primary energy consumption and on the economic costs of the product.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Robust Stochastic Dynamic Optimal Power Flow Model of Electricity-Gas Integrated Energy System considering Wind Power Uncertainty

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
The application of gas turbines and power to gas equipment deepens the coupling relationship between power systems and natural gas systems and provides a new way to absorb the uncertain wind power as well.
