Deep learning-based single image face depth data enhancement

open access: yesComputer Vision and Image Understanding, 2021
Face recognition can benefit from the utilization of depth data captured using low-cost cameras, in particular for presentation attack detection purposes. Depth video output from these capture devices can however contain defects such as holes or general depth inaccuracies. This work proposes a deep learning face depth enhancement method in this context

Recovering Depth Map from Enhanced Image Gradients

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2015
AbstractThis paper presents a new and efficient approach for recovering surface height from its image gradients. In order to compensate noise effect in image intensities, Gaussian filter is used to smooth the intensity values. Image gradient is calculated from the smoothen image by taking the central difference of intensity values.

Two-Dimensional Helioseismic Power, Phase, and Coherence Spectra of {\it Solar Dynamics Observatory} Photospheric and Chromospheric Observables

open access: yes, 2012
While the {\it Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager} (HMI) onboard the {\it Solar Dynamics Observatory} (SDO) provides Doppler velocity [$V$], continuum intensity [$I_C$], and line-depth [$Ld$] observations, each of which is sensitive to the five-minute ...

Vascular Response to Sildenafil Citrate in Aging and Age-Related Macular Degeneration. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) - the leading cause of vision loss in the elderly - share many risks factors as atherosclerosis, which exhibits loss of vascular compliance resulting from aging and oxidative stress.

Depth Imaging Enhancement Using Reverse Time Migration

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science, 2017
Imaging the subsurface with complex structures and steeply dipping salt boundaries is a challenging task in seismic exploration. Between two main categories of seismic migration, wavefield-continuation methods have been more successful than ray-based ones.

Optical Coherence Tomography in Inflammatory and Neoplastic Lesions Deforming the Choroidal Profile

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
The choroid is the main part of the uvea, the vascular layer of the eye that lies between the retina and the sclera. The high vascular component of the choroid makes this structure susceptible to inflammation in multisystemic diseases, as well as the ...
