Optical Coherence Tomography in Inflammatory and Neoplastic Lesions Deforming the Choroidal Profile

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2023
The choroid is the main part of the uvea, the vascular layer of the eye that lies between the retina and the sclera. The high vascular component of the choroid makes this structure susceptible to inflammation in multisystemic diseases, as well as the ...

Two-Dimensional Helioseismic Power, Phase, and Coherence Spectra of {\it Solar Dynamics Observatory} Photospheric and Chromospheric Observables

open access: yes, 2012
While the {\it Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager} (HMI) onboard the {\it Solar Dynamics Observatory} (SDO) provides Doppler velocity [$V$], continuum intensity [$I_C$], and line-depth [$Ld$] observations, each of which is sensitive to the five-minute ...

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Effect of Scattering Efficiency in the Tip Enhanced Raman Spectroscopic Imaging of Nanostructures in the Sub Diffraction Limit

open access: yes, 2017
The experimental limitations in the signal enhancement and spatial resolution in spectroscopic imaging have been always a challenging task in the application of near-field spectroscopy for nanostructured materials in the sub-diffraction limit.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Evaluation of the lamina cribrosa in patients with multiple sclerosis using enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2018
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a demyelinating disease of the central nervous system. Optic neuritis (ON) is common clinical manifestation of MS. Spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) has been used as a useful tool to quantify the neuronal ...

Focusing and Compression of Ultrashort Pulses through Scattering Media [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Light scattering in inhomogeneous media induces wavefront distortions which pose an inherent limitation in many optical applications. Examples range from microscopy and nanosurgery to astronomy.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...
