The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Thermal Energy Storage Enhancement of Lightweight Cement Mortars with the Application of Phase Change Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this study, cement-based thermal energy storage composites (TESC) were developed by integrating a novel phase change material (PCM) composite into ordinary cement mortar (NC). The composite PCM is based on paraffin and hydrophobic expanded perlite and

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

2D Material-Enhanced Phase Change Materials

open access: yesInternational Journal for Research in Applied Science and Engineering Technology
Phase change materials (PCMs) are promising options for thermal energy storage systems because of their well-known high energy density and consistent thermal output. Nevertheless, the low thermal conductivity and phase transition leakage of conventional PCMs severely restrict their usefulness.

Photoluminescence enhancement of Eu³⁺ ions by Ag species in SiO₂ three-dimensionally ordered macroporous materials

open access: yes, 2015
Data source: Supplementary information, https://doi.org/10.1039/C5TC01340BThe existing states of silver depend on the sintering temperature of SiO₂ three-dimensionally ordered macroporous (3DOM) materials. Several species related to silver (Ag⁺ ions, Ag⁺–

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
