We propose a unified and flexible framework for ensemble learning in the presence of censoring. For right-censored data, we introduce a random forest algorithm and a generic gradient boosting algorithm for the construction of prognostic and diagnostic models.

The Ensembl (http://www.ensembl.org/) project provides a comprehensive and integrated source of annotation of large genome sequences. Over the last year the number of genomes available from the Ensembl site has increased by 7 to 16, with the addition of the six vertebrate genomes of chimpanzee, dog, cow, chicken, tetraodon and frog and the insect ...

Ensembl (http://www.ensembl.org) creates tools and data resources to facilitate genomic analysis in chordate species with an emphasis on human, major vertebrate model organisms and farm animals. Over the past year we have increased the number of species that we support to 77 and expanded our genome browser with a new scrollable overview and improved ...

Artificial Neural Network Based Ensemble Approach for Multicultural Facial Expressions Analysis
Facial expressions convey exhaustive information about human emotions and the most interactive way of social collaborations, despite differences in ethnicity, culture, and geography. Due to cultural differences, the variations in facial structure, facial

In last years, several approaches to develop an effective Computer-Aided-Diagnosis (CAD) system for Parkinson's Disease (PD) have been proposed. Most of these methods have focused almost exclusively on brain images through the use of Machine-Learning ...

We develop a novel framework for rigorously evaluating land surface models (LSMs) against observations by recognizing the asymmetry between verification‐ and falsification‐oriented approaches. The former approach cannot completely verify LSMs even though

Thompson sampling has emerged as an effective heuristic for a broad range of online decision problems. In its basic form, the algorithm requires computing and sampling from a posterior distribution over models, which is tractable only for simple special cases.

Analysis of Multiobjective Algorithms for the Classification of Multi-Label Video Datasets
It is of great importance to extract and validate an optimal subset of non-dominated features for effective multi-label classification. However, deciding on the best subset of features is an NP-Hard problem and plays a key role in improving the ...
